A vila de Almeida e a aldeia da Freineda recebem este fim de semana mais uma edição da Escola do Soldado

No sábado, dia 16, a fortaleza abaluartada de Almeida recebeu os novos recrutas para formação no manuseamento de mosquetes e canhões, manobras de Infantaria e Artilharia e Ordem Unida, tudo isto em contexto militar do século XIX.
As atividades militares em enquadramento de recriação histórica tiveram início com uma formatura e a respetiva inspeção às tropas que constituem os vários grupos nacionais e internacionais de recriadores. Seguiu-se um desfile e uma cerimónia no cemitério de Almeida em homenagem aos recriadores já falecidos. Também durante a manhã o Picadeiro d’el Rey recebeu várias oficinas didáticas com temas da época.
Durante a tarde os recriadores receberam formação nos Baluartes de S. Francisco e S. Pedro. Além da instrução de Ordem Unida tiveram também a oportunidade de efetuarem tiro de pólvora seca com mosquete e canhão.
The town of Almeida and the village of Freineda are hosting another edition of the Soldier’s School this weekend.
Saturday
On Saturday 16th, the Almeida bastion fortress welcomed new recruits for training in musket and cannon handling, infantry and artillery manoeuvres and the United Order, all in a 19th century military context.
The military activities in the context of historical re-enactment began with a graduation and inspection of the troops that make up the various national and international groups of re-enactors. This was followed by a parade and a ceremony at the Almeida cemetery in honour of the deceased re-enactors. Also during the morning, the Picadeiro d’el Rey hosted various didactic workshops on period themes.
In the afternoon, the re-enactors received training at the Bastions of St Francis and St Peter. As well as instruction in the United Order, they also had the opportunity to shoot blanks with muskets and cannons.
